Exotic Plant Expertise Sets Us Apart
Multiflora Enterprises started as a palm specialty nursery in 1999, but other plants to complement palms were introduced soon afterwards. New flowering plants are continually being introduced or breed and tested for performance, especially those that are drought tolerant. Many new items originate from dry climates of Australia, South Africa, Mexico, Peru, Chile, Madagascar, and the Mediterranean. Some never have been grown in California or uncommon. Also, being tried for 2016 are new or unusual plants found in the southwestern U.S. including some from the Channel islands off the southern California coast. Many of these have evolved as unique and beautiful species. These will be added to the online catalog when available.
With the emphasis on edible landscaping and home grown, pesticide free produce in the last few years, we have added edible plants that include low chill requirement varieties of stone fruit trees, unusual subtropical fruits, and berries. We take great care in growing our plants to their optimum levels. They are grown as close as possible to their native environmental conditions with adjustments for container culture. Most of the larger size, tropical palm specimens, however, are acclimatized to weather conditions outside the greenhouse. Selection of plants for a variety of environmental conditions is an importance in our line of plant materials. We have something for every garden in every warm climate or microclimate whether it is wet, dry, cool, but frost free, full sun, shade, saline soil, clay soil, etc. See Plant Resources for best plant selection for your site. Horticultural consulting service is available for plant problems and soil and water analysis. Click here for contact information |
